It still seems like yesterday that I step into my old primary school classroom collecting my PSLE cert. At that time I tot I did okay, I got into the secondary next door (both the school is joined, Montfort) and same class as many of
my classmates. got all 4 grades, A,B,C,D... LOL. and when I received the results, my form teacher Miss Tan (a big lady) said with a smile to me "you got an A for science!". Thank you for the smile :) anyway I got 174. (upon 300)
still vividly remember my secondary school days. a couple of my closest friends in sec 1 and 2 did well and went to express stream and slowly I grew apart from them. regrets.. studied till sec 5 with my N and O levels. didn't do particularity well. got 7 points for best 3 subjects for N. (les
s than 10 points to go sec 5). gave up my Chinese. firmly going to Poly. HAHA. got 13 and 20 for O levels.
chose Ngee Ann Poly, cose 1 of my good friend going NP engineering. so I quickly flip through the courses available and chose 1 course that I tot can play game. LOL. got into Multimedia computing. Suppose to be tough course, programming! but its quite fun actually. my first practical class, java applet, g.drawRect, drawOval (Cant rmb, LOL). suppose to draw some house and a tree. I "draw" an apple tree (oval tree with overlapping ovals). thinking back it's kindda lame thou HAHA. I got an A for that module and B's for the rest for sem 1.
Then in my second sem I scored full marks for
Operating system (OS) common test! only YC did also. Haha. got my best in sem 3. GPA of 3.91. poly was great. Thanks for building me up. applied to NUS and NTU. didn't get called up for any interview so tot no more chance. then got NTU offer of just 1 piece of paper. Admitted into Double Degree Business & Computing.
Got rejected for all scholarships thou. HAHA.
It wasn't that long ago since my first day orientation in NTU. attend Computing orientation then the Business course one. Life is tough. much much tougher than poly. studied harder than I ever did in my life during sem 1. thankful for Hall and my roomie, manage to help me get through first year. Decided to try change course to Accounting & Business. failed the interview but got offered double major instead. took it and drop computing.
Never looked back. enjoyed most of the modules in NTU business and those I took in Computing. Kicked some foreign a** in OOP in sem 2 to show them that Singaporeans can do programming too (No offence guys
). struggled in sem 4. got 3 B+ in 1 sem which previously I never had.
remembered a particular incident in class. 1 of my group mates PSLE score is 250. then I was like "wow! thats high." which someone reply "250 very high meh?" they got like 260, 270+. haha I replied "you scored 100 more points than me :) "
sem 5 and 6 tried my best to go enjoy the modules and worry less abt my GPA haha. it was in free fall... enjoyed forensics science! even went to CSI event at science center. forced myself to appreciated all my modules and not just mug. didn't manage to do the watch movie module about biology thou. :( dropped my 2nd major.
311 strategic was a surprise. flop my first essay badly
. even started counting my GPA to see what grade can I get. was praying "please give me a B+" haha. then late nights writings and on the dot submission for group essay. phew~ Class was abit fluffy. anything goes, just speak up. Haha. I represent my table for a mock debate too. was fun! LOL. for my final essay for this class ans well as final NTU essay, it's about ethics. got "Excellent" for my grade.
And back to yesterday. 12AM. Got 5.0 for this sem. finally did a perfect sem. got A+ for FYP too. Thank you to my external fyp client for the big help! did a question paper generating system for their tuition center.
in less than a month time will be starting full time work! not sure if I will be back to studying again but it was a long and tough journey. took 2 years more than most but if you told me when I was collecting my PSLE that I would get what I have now. I would think you are out of your mind. HAHA. maybe MBA in future. for now, hope and do my best for work first.
Keeping this moment in my blog. Good nights!
